When we arrived, there were dirty dishes and receipts left on the tables. However, considering the restaurant was understaffed (with just one person working), this was understandable. The food took a bit longer to arrive, but it was excellent with generous portions, and the prices were comparable to other Japanese restaurants in the area. I would definitely return on a Friday or Saturday night and hope they can hire more staff!
As for parking, there are a few spots directly in front of the restaurant, but they are shared with other businesses on the same block. While we didn’t have trouble finding parking, there is plenty available nearby if those spots are taken.
We ordered takeout from this restaurant for the first time, and our entire family had a great experience. The alligator rolls, vegetable and shrimp tempura, and age-dashi tofu were all fantastic. My daughter was particularly fond of the tempura, repeatedly mentioning how tasty everything was. We will definitely explore more dishes on our next visit!
The sushi was delicious, and they were very attentive to my food allergies. Although it’s not shown in the photos, we also ordered the eel rice plate and chicken udon, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed! The portions were quite generous, and all the staff members were friendly and accommodating.
This was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! The fish in the nigiri sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The couple running the restaurant are very friendly, and it’s clear that every dish is prepared with great care and attention to detail. I will definitely return!

This restaurant is outstanding in every aspect! It’s situated in a wonderful location and is truly a hidden gem. The sushi chef is incredible, the presentation is stunning, and the fish is top-notch. I couldn't ask for anything better!
Tasty beef soup (Sukiyaki). Very friendly owners. The interior may benefit from some professional designers. Kid-friendliness: Brightly lit, has children books and some cartoon running on one of the TVs.
This restaurant has the charm of a classic neighborhood eatery in Japan. The food was excellent! Although the service was a little slow, the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back!
Ito is the very best. He is so kind, funny and takes great pride in his work. The sushi is always fresh and his prices are very reasonable. His presentation is wonderful. Don’t miss this experience.

I graduated from Newton North in 1996. Now I am back in Tokyo. Shogun serves real Sushi and I enjoyed time to time. It’s not a fake SUSHI.
Food was excellent, service was friendly. It was late and we were the only people there. We had a lovely chat.
