Hot chocolate was alright, too bad they ran out of whipped cream. Seitan Katsu came with seaweed which I don't eat anymore, the seitan had a thin crispy batter to it, there was not enough of it! Rice was good and the Katsu sauce was alright, more on the sweet side, 3/5 stars Sunday roast was great, the broccolini was the star, seitan was great along with the parsnip mash, wanted more of it! 4.5/5 stars SFS burger was really dry, even though the red cabbage kept dripping juice, the leaf (not the red cabbage) was really dry too, almost waxy.....the buns were crispy on the outside, and it's quite thick compared to the super thin crispy seitan, due to the buns, it made biting into it awkward. I’ve visited shrub several times now and is always my go-to when in Chester. The food is amazing and the restaurant itself has a beautiful interior with a gorgeous outdoor Terrace area perfect for warmer months!
