I ate here while staying at the Landhouse Stricker hotel. On my last night there I intended to dine at their Michelin starred gourmet restaurant, the Bodendorf's, but I failed to make a reservation in time and they couldn't accommodate me. We went there on my birthday, not being too hungry considering the lunch we had elsewhere. The menu absolutely catered to my taste and appetite: Everything à la carte and most of it in different sizes - and very, very tempting. I had salad hearts in a lovely dressing as a starter, topped with crisp chorizo, almonds and radishes. My main course of duck cassoulet with mushrooms and leek strudel was simply delicious, using soy sauce as a clever twist. Service was friendly and easygoing - no overpowering wine-list-kerfuffle for you here. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality provided - we will definitely return.
this is another place on sylt that is a MUST place to be visited when they are food. the hotel is located in small and boutique hotels. the restaurant is cozy and they can really feel that the history around it is. large, professional service, with a twist. of humor, if appropriate. please be patient with her wine selection as it is. more than 900 weine in the weeping list! What can I say about eating? only a word marvelous! all the dishes we ordered were perfect: matjes filet (the most delicate type of hering) turbot, rumpsteak and homemade pasta with truffles were excellent.

we were there with our family and were absolutely amazed at the creative, but at the same time the highest quality menu and eat as well as the great selection of wines that were available. we loved the ambiente and although the service staff was young, they were very friendly and competent. Even our pickling teenagers loved eating and as we travel a lot around the world, we will definitely come back to this place.
Initially we've wanted to go to Bodendorf (their another restaurant) but it was booked out on that day. So we've opted for 1784 and didn't regret it even a bit at the end. It's a lovely restaurant with a romantic atmosphere and impeccable service. But...most importantly truly delicious food. We've spent a blissful evening at this place, every single thing we've had there lived up to our expectations.
