First visit at the Sihlhalde in Gattikon. We know the area quite a bit as we love take strolls there. A beautiful idyllic setting where you enjoy the terrazza in the summer and the cosy interior in winter. A beautiful old traditional Swiss house including kachelhofen. Sihlhalde Smolinsky, here we go Pastinaque, summer truffles Brasato ravioli, Périgord truffles, summer truffles Sea bass, champagne sauce, (not sure here: viper grass or chard) Venison loin, mushroom cream sauce, cranberries, chestnuts, spätzli Cheese selection, plum chutney Tarte Tatin, sour cream ice cream Côte des nuits, Nuits-St-Georges, Latour, This restaurant keeps his indulgent promises, without pretentiousness, which makes their cuisine accessible to a broader group. And I strongly believe it’s intentional. The menu concept is very linear and clear, classic dishes made with focus on the taste and gourmandise. This is reflected also in the wine selection, clear, readable and lovely.
Best restaurant in a long time Finally we found a restaurant again, which really outperforms in the kitchen We enjoyed two starters and a Chateaubriand for the main dish as well as cheese for each person. All dishes were outstanding delicious and just perfect. Taste, appearance, quantity and quality to the level of best food ever! Congratulations to the Chef we are looking forward to being your guests again Our impression on the price-performance ratio is absolutely fair and justified The location and ambience are noble and classy for private as well as business events The service was friendly.
We went for the full menu. Superbe amuse bouche with raw tuna and lemongrass foam and starter I had the truffle ravioli and my husband the scallops. Rest was more conventional but very finely prepared and therefore we had a good time. Staff was average friendly. I missed the announcement of the served dish couldn't remember everything I had read before starting. Also the staff came with the cheese tray and asked us what would you like without explaining what was on the tray. We had to insist a bit to get more information. These were the only lowlights of our experience there.
