Many readers are always sceptical when someone scores a venue 5 out 5, but truly we could not fault anything at Sir. Charles.We arrived on a busy Saturday lunch time and the lovely staff sat us down to one of the best tables of the venue.It took us a while to pick our food but the wait staff was constantly checking in with us if we were okay, in a nice way and not a pushy one.We ordered their Corn Fritters and the Charles Benedict for food and gosh it took no longer than 4 minutes to see our plates in front of us.The food, oh the food was so good that I would eat it there everyday if my finances were a bit greener. Came here on a referral from a friend who lives in the area but she warned me that it's not a small quiet place which is what I like but said the food was good.I ordered the eggs benedict on roti - OMG delicous. The iced latte strong and tasty. The juice my friend ordered was excellent. They roast their own coffee on site and you can watch the dude at work. Seating is at a variety of high tables, high benches, little booths, tables and more - stretches right out to the back. It's very crowded at 11am. Very much a hispter place but there was the odd couple of us over 50.Certainly worth a try.$68 for 4 of us. Not bad.Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. High chairs available. Parking not too bad...

Me and my friends went there for lunch on sunday. The restaurant was busy so the food was come out a lit bit slow. We orders salted caramel hot chocolate, latte and mega cronuts for start. The cronut was ok the chocolate flavor was too sickly sweet but strawberry rhubarb was perfect. They serve good coffee especially they salted hot chocolate was so good!! For another foods were great, good flavor and the eggs cook to perfection but they matcha hot cake was weird I don't smell or taste any matcha from it. It more like they using jasmine green tea and green food coloring instead of matcha powder so this dish was the let down for me. The service was good and friendly staff.

When you just need great coffee and a good breakfast and you can't think straight forget about trying to find the latest trendiest hidden cafe and come to Sir Charles. The coffee is sensational and the food is it's equal the Sir Charles benny with panko crumbed poached eggs (always perfect) served on a roti with bacon and chilli is a no brainer. This place has an airy feel. Service was very friendly. I had a hearty bowl of porridge, i liked the use of freeze dried raspberries as a 'spice' Pea hash and excellent vegetarian/vegan options. Very good coffee

Been living in Fitzroy for 18 months now and never visited this place. Not sure why not because the food is phenomenal! Do yourself a favour and try it out. Awesome coffee too.

I had the most delicious matcha hotcakes ever! My partner's eggs benny was also divine! Wide array of foreign coffees and friendly, helpful staff
