Most of the time, the food here is quite good, especially the pasta, chicken, and veal. However, we had the fried calamari, which was old and unappetizing. It’s disappointing to hear the owner blaming the food distributor for this. The family member who responds to reviews never seems to accept any criticism, which is frustrating. The family member who replies to reviews consistently refuses to accept any criticism. Additionally, I’ve noticed that employee turnover is quite high. One reason for this could be that Sir John has family members working during busy weekend nights and events, which might not help the situation.
Another concern is the extra charge for customers paying with credit cards. Just so you know, New York State law now requires that cash bills be presented alongside credit card charges.
On a positive note, Sir John is a genuinely nice and hardworking man who always treats his customers with respect. However, it might be time for him to consider retiring and enjoying some well-deserved relaxation.
Convenient location in its own commercial plaza with ample parking. Lots of natural light. Friendly waitstaff and clean bathrooms. Wholesome food at fair prices, including “hinged” rolls containing foodstuff which locals call “wedges.” The Westchester Libertarian Party regularly meets here.
John the owner treats everyone like family. I am from N.J. and have been going to Sir Johns for over 25 years with my N.Y. friend. The food portions are ample and always served with fresh Italian bread and water. The pricing is very reasonable. Parking: Right outside the door.

Unfortunately, I’ve eaten here several times (family gatherings), so this isn’t a one-off. Each meal has been consistently lacking and the service isn’t any better. After the last fiasco of a gathering several of us put our foot down and said never again.
This place is an old school hidden gem, 5 minutes from downtown WP. Good food and great pizza New York style with a crispy, slightly thicker crust. Easily one of the best slices you will find in Westchester.
I always enjoy visiting this place. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, and John is really friendly. I highly recommend the Fettuccine Carbonara!
