I didn't spend much time at Slacks, but I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the patenhoagie, while my husband went for the Italian hoagie. He usually isn't very picky about food, but after finishing his, he mentioned that while the bread was great, there was hardly any meat. As for me, I'm a bit more particular, and when I order something like the Godfather Italian Hoagie, I expect more than just three slices of meat (and I'm not exaggerating here), not to mention barely a hint of sharp provolone on what felt like an oversized hotdog roll covered in seeds! I was really disappointed.
I eat here all the time. Reliable place, always friendly service. You might not love everything on the menu, but there's a good variety, so you should be able to find something. And don't forget about the salads?it's not just hoagies and subs. I'm always happy with their salads. They don't have a brick oven, so for something like meatballs I would probably prefer a pizzeria. The cheesesteaks and chicken steaks are fresh and tasty though. They cater, too.
So let me start with there's a sign in the window offering a free hot meal to anyone in need, no questions asked! I was very impressed with that, especially in this day and age. So kuddos to the owner for being so caring and compassionate! Now for the food review. The cheese steak was amazing! A very full sandwich and I only ordered a half (thankfully!! We come to Langhone at least twice a year, we'll definitely return here in our next visit!
Slack's is a beloved family tradition for us. Every year, we gather at Valley Green for a picnic on the bench that my Uncle Joe, Aunt Annette’s husband, built over 15 years ago. After our picnic, we always head to Slack's for a fantastic meal as a family. We’ve never been disappointed, and their customer service is consistently exceptional. Thank you, Slack's Hoagie Shack! Slack's never disappoints! The food is always delicious, and the service is friendly regardless of when you visit. I just returned today and enjoyed an amazing hoagie! It's also important to mention that this location openly welcomes those who are homeless or struggling, allowing them to come in for a meal at any time during operating hours. Truly a class act all around!
