Really want to support local but twice now they can't carry out instructions. Once in shop salt only, got salt and vinegar. Next time online, salt only, got salt and vinegar again (even had S+V on the wrapping which didn't notice until we got home). Chips are plentiful but quite plain. Saveloy was good first order, awful and split on the second order. Scampi was good but as always, very expensive. The shop has been furnished very nicely and staff are welcoming, shame about the actual food. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20
This was one of the worst fish and chips I have ever had! The chips were cold and soggy with oil, and the fish batter tasted like old oil. We had to warm everything up in the microwave. On a positive note, the actual fish was okay. I apologize, but I have to be honest. I understand it was a Thursday, but I would not recommend getting takeout unless they can deliver. The service was for takeout, and the meal was for dinner. The price per person was £20-30. I would rate the food a 1, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 3.
Exactly what you need from a chippy. Clean and modern, staff are pleasant. Bonus that online ordering and collection is reliable, though they seem to struggle with customisations so I stick to fillets, not the fillet burger that I want the mayo and lettuce removed from. Good food, awful customer service, staff didn’t look like they wanted to be there, when your try and talk to them and they grunt at you it puts you off going back.
