Everyone at Sussex Meat Packing in Wharton is super kind and helpful. The place is always really clean. Great selection of cuts, but they take requests also just like any other butcher. They also have a really nice selection of other things like bread, pickles, French fries, amazing raviolis etc etc. Great deli too. Their sandwiches are awesome. All of that alone makes me go there but I will no longer buy meat elsewhere especially chicken. Their chicken is always amazingly juicy and no weird texture like some of the other chicken you buy in the supermarket. Seriously, this place is a treasure and I highly recommend it!
The staff here is always super efficient and friendly. Even when it gets busy, their system is so streamlined that you won't have to wait long, so don’t hesitate to give it a try. Their wings are a solid 10/10—my favorite is the garlic parmesan. I especially love the Reuben stuffed bread they offer around St. Patrick’s Day; I get so excited when I see the signs in the windows announcing its return for the season. It’s absolutely delicious!
Gave me such nostalgia to come here! Reminded me of my family Sunday dinners growing up and going to get fresh meat with my Nonna. My only disappointment is not coming here sooner! It’s so close and convenient to where I live. I’ll definitely be back! Everyone was so nice, Teresa really made it a warm welcoming experience, as well as the cashier who rang me up (I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name)
SMP is like Christmas for carnivores. Be prepared to wait if you're there in core hours grab a number from the dispenser inside the door. They have lots of things besides meat too take a look around at the produce and frozen foods.

This restaurant offers high-quality meat at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly, always pleasant, and incredibly helpful, which is greatly appreciated! Their sandwiches are also fantastic. What more could you ask for?
