Sonnegg Betriebs Gmbh

A great little discovery not far from the bustling city center of Lucerne. Sonnegg is located in the nearby municipality of Meggen. When we visited in October 2023 we found a mostly empty restaurant which led us to be wary of what to expect, but after we were served a complementary “Lauchsuppe” (Leek Soup) we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the 300g Rindsfilet Steak (which is served on a hot grill stone), my wife ordered the Cordon Bleu with Gorgonzola and my son the Chicken Wings. All of the food was really top quality and among the best of any of the restaurants that we tried using our vacation in Switzerland. Sonnegg war wunderbar. Wir saßen auf ihrem Balkon und schauten auf den Vierwaldstättersee und die Alpen. Das Kalbfleisch Wurst und Rösti und ein Gericht mit einem Rösti in Käsesauce und einem Ei war ein Traum. Auf jeden Fall empfehlen!

Das Restaurant hat eine schöne Terrasse mit herrlichem Blick vom See und den Bergen. Tolle lokale Gerichte und Fleischspezialitäten. Die Portionen sind groß und das Essen sehr lecker, begleitet von freundlichem Service.

Wir haben zu lange auf die Bedienung warten müssen obwohl es im Lokal recht leer war. Da wir wenig Zeit hatten sind wir wieder gegangen. Ob das Essen gut ist können wir nicht beurteilen. Réservez une table maintenant

Restaurant has a nice Terrace with great View from the Lake and Mountains. Great Local Dishes and Meat specialities. Portions are big and food very tasty acompanied by friendly service.

Waren Nachmittag beim Essen, alles frisch zubereitet, wahnsinnig lecker. Preise völlig in Ordnung. Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Sehr sehr empfehlenswert!

We walked from Luzern to Meggen along the lake and did a stop for a lovely Sunday lunch. The food was 5 star! Delicious.
