The terrace is great, the beer is tasty/cold, and the Aperol spray does not tilt on the aperol. We were treated with nothing but kindness. We only had drinks here. The view is amazing."

We were privileged to return to Hotel Sonnenberg for a week in late summer. Babs and their crew were fantastic! Not only the facilities glittering clean (as always), but Koch Oliver, staff Sandy, Celene, internal Anja and Chef Pilz Harvester Thomas were efficient, happy, courteous and knowledgeable about local hiking trails. The property is an invigorating walk from Mürren and a welcome starting point for hikes on the surrounding well-signed hiking trails. Oliver is really a craftsman in the kitchen creates special dishes for diners as well as mixing his special blend of spices, from which he sent home with us. We often want to return and recommend it very much.
Arrived at lunch tike, only two tables taken. Very aggressive service from the manager. We had a black coffee and soft drink which cost CHF 21.50. I dont wish anyone else to be ripped off like us. We were hoping to have lunch but no menus offered. My partner and I've done a lot of travel and this is probably the worst restaurant experience we have ever encountered. Spoils an otherwise stunning area.
This place should be closed to steal from customers. We went from Murren and wanted to stop for a drink and some food. We were bruised when we had asked if the place was open for food and we should have just continued on that point. We have a small coffee and soft drink and it came to 21CHF. This is a whole daylight robbery and theft. Don't go to this place. Spend your money elsewhere.
We made a booking at 2 a.m. to the hotel, but at 4 a.m. to realize that we can't do it, we immediately advised the hotel and asked for a refund. At the same time they were still on the booking site. Therefore we did not penalize when booking, no service provided, but the answer was NO. Sadly you learn the Swiss marketing policy for this institution.... just money....
