I drove 30 minutes from Easton PA to Stroudsburg PA, looking for a semi decent soulfood place because, unfortunately, there aren't any good places to get that southern home cooking until I found this gem of a place. The food is so over priced it’s laughable. Oxtails are disgusting. Why is a 6pc platter of wings almost $30 that’s just robbery. The food isn’t worth the price, not to mention the platters don’t even come with sides. Sides are $5+ each on a already overpriced dish
I ordered the turkey chop dinner, which was covered in gravy, with Mac and cheese and yams as the sides. The meal was incredibly tasty and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I am grateful for the experience.
Stopped by to try a new lunch spot and ended up having some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend Soul Food Chess House—10/10. The oxtail with mac and cheese and candied yams was absolutely delicious!
