The restaurant's ambiance is adorable and cozy. Although it was busy, the staff was attentive, and it was clear they worked well as a team. One of our starters arrived late, but management kindly comped it, which we appreciated. The drinks were fantastic—our favorites included the house-shot, espresso martini, and ginger pigeon. I had pizza on a previous visit, which was both interesting and excellent. On this trip, we had salads and pasta fra diavolo with mussels and a pasta with fennel sausage. We asked for gluten free pasta. The sauces for both pasta dishes were excellent. The pasta was somewhat overcooked with the fra diavolo sauce and seriously overcooked with the fennel sausage sauce. The Source Restaurant is a western cuisine restaurant located in the heart of Harvard Square serving a wide range of dishes, but specializing in Neapolitan pizza. The ambiance is lit dimly, perfect for more intimate dinners such as date nights or celebrations. Highly recommend reservations, especially on the weekend. The service was great. Great place in downtown Cambridge! It's tucked away in Harvard square, behind the bookstore and just off campus. Most the crowd is townies, and it's got a lot of seating. Parking is tough to get, but there are street and lot options nearby. Of course, you can get there via the T pretty easily as well.We got seated quickly, and saw the menu having a mix of appetizers, drinks, salads, pastas, and pizzas. This is a great store, and I really appreciate that they sell beer and wine—that's how a grocery store should be! However, my biggest issue, to the point that it frustrates me, is their limited selection of Iggy's Bakery bagels. They only offer two types because they claim to bake their own, but the bagels made in-store at Whole Foods are just terrible. They did something similar with Nashoba Brook Bakery by not offering their whole wheat bread, all because they want to limit competition for their own products, which are also subpar. If it weren't for these monopolistic practices, this would be an outstanding store!
The food was delicious. The scallop crudo was fresh and well balanced. The kale pizza was unique and tasty thought it could have had a bit more of the toppings on it. The salad was fine but not as good or unique as the other things I had. The people who worked there were lovely and kind. Made me feel like I was at their home instead of a restaurant. Also, love the half glass of wine option especially befor the theatre.
This is my top pizza spot in Boston Tuscan kale is the best combination of flavors and the crust is so doughy and crispy at the same time. I love this place, vibes are good, consistent and reliable, every time we come here we are not disappointed. Dessert pizza is straight fire ?
This is a great spot for a drink or a nice dinner! We enjoyed some local beers and some delicious roasted cauliflower. We’ll definitely be back soon to try the pizzas—they looked incredible!
