We celebrated a birthday outside on the boardwalk patio, 16 of us. They arranged a prefixe meal which makes sense for group this size. The descriptions of the dishes were better than delivered. For appetizers we had family style of each. We had shrimp cocktail, which was just as expected, not a let down but it’s a basic dish. The crispy calamari was good, the choice of 2 dipping sauces was a pleasant offering, the Asian sweet sauce was best. Then there was the burrata over arugula salad. The burrata was a bit tough on the outside and the salad had no dressing, a drizzle of EVOO was all you could see or taste. I was a little disappointed in the menu options at South Fin Grill. For what I would consider a seafood restaurant, I was not impressed with the menu at all. What was more disappointing, is that there were no specials. I had a salad and the poached cod. Food was good, but not outstanding. View was nice, waiter was attentive. I would probably try one more time, but if I have the same experience, not sure I will be back. Lots of other restaurants to choose from on Staten Island that have better food and selection.
Outdoor dining is nice. Food was marginal and expensive. Steak and eggs consisted of 4 like cube pieces of steak steak overdone and eggs over hard although easy was requested. Drink was spilled on my pants. Not intentional but really annoying nonetheless.
Food was BEAUTIFULLY presented but it was unseasoned and took a very long time. We were rushed and the location was very noisy. Drinks were too sweet and crowd was VERY drunk and noisy. Will not return.

South Fin Grill is an excellent spot to enjoy a summer evening. Situated directly on the beach, the view is beautiful. Although it may be a bit pricey, there is plenty of parking available.

Our food was excellent . Our waitress was friendly and attentive . Later we went to the bar area where everyone was super nice.
Food took forever to get. To add insult to injury restaurant did not even credit me for points on open table!!!
