Mount Holly brew pub stop number three. This was probably my favorite stop on my Mount Holly crawl. The place is pretty cool. If I had to pick one to go back to, this would be my first choice. What one would think of for a brew pub. The service was top notch. Had the Spellbound IPA. No fancy name. Just the IPA. It was very good. Had another IPA also, and can't remember the name. It was good, but was more of an East Coast IPA. I prefer the West Coast. As I was leaving, I noticed a large area in the back (I parked on the side when you first pull into the lot, and you walk right into the tasting room), and it looked like they actually had a band setting up and getting ready to go. Cool, and right up my alley. Unfortunately, this was stop 3, and had to pace myself. Next time, and there will be a next time. Will definitely be back, and hopefully sooner rather than later. Oh, and Ester the cat walking around even added to the charm.
My boyfriend loves trying breweries so we picked this one on a Saturday late afternoon in December. He enjoyed a flight and my beer as it was too hoppy for me (I should have tasted it, I know! Lol). It's a nice size brewery. I think soccer was on when we walked in and everyone was glued to the tv. They have some stuff to keep kids occupied as well because there were two boys at a table near us. Seemed like it was all locals which is great for any business!
Pros: A casual laid back brewery. We were there on Thanksgiving Eve. It is a self-service kinda place and the bartender was friendly. They have a bunch of board games and that was fun. They don't serve food but you can get food delivered from elsewhere or bring your own food. Cons: The board games shelf hasn't been dusted for ages. Anything we touch was dusty and that was annoying.
MOUNT HOLLY: another day in NJ, another wonderful brewery! Spellbound Brewing allows leashed-dogs at their charming outdoor area decked out with picnic tables and umbrellas. There are over 20 beers on tap and the Quad +1 Fifth anniversary beer was really good and well balanced. Bring home a growler, cans, bottles, and even a keg for your next puppy party!
