I can definitely recommend a visit to Spice Valley. Forget anything negative you may have heard before. Food and service are both excellent under the new owners. Staff are friendly. There's a whole new range of dishes. We're spoiled for choice there's the traditional favourites and several modern dishes that I'd not heard of before. And if you're after something a bit hotter or a bit milder, or something a bit out of the ordinary, they'll happily accommodate.I'm also impressed with the website. It is so easy to place a takeaway order through, and if you have any special requests, like making a certain dish with king prawn instead of chicken say, you just put it in the additional comment box....

The quality and diversity of the menu is very good for an Indian restaurant in a village the size of lambourn. Where the wheels fall off is the takeaway service. My wife and I are not prolific takeaway eaters, but we order one every 1-2 months. The last 10 or so times we have ordered, 1) we are told it will take at least 1 hour to deliver, and 2) they are always late to deliver, on two occasions up to 2 hours. Every other occasion they get lost (even though we live on the main street in a nearby village) or get our order wrong. Needless to say these guys have a captive market here is the wilds of West Berkshire, but going forward I am considering paying for delivery or picking up myself from...

Recent visit so don't know if there has been a change of chef but flavours notas good as in the past. Difficult to describe but all a bit bland and lacking in flavour.Portions are about average (not large) and adequate but meat content (chicken/lamb) is a little lacking and evident by being cut up very small. (You have to hunt for it).Maybe a one off experience and being too harsh so will try again as it was so goodin the past.

Went there because the takeaway in aldbourne was shut. What a mistake. A strange green foul tasting chicken dish with a sour taste revolting. Under cooked bhajis. Small veg side dish was half empty. Prawn dishes were insipid. Absolutely horrible. Will never go there again for a takeaway. The coop is next door. Will go there instead
