So disappointed as we have previously left a review about two years ago that was nothing but praise. With the menu being reduced from when we last ordered, we assumed the quality of food must have improved since the kitchen could focus on what they excelled at; an assumption that turned out to be wrong. We ordered a superfood bowl and a Katsu bowl with a side of Mac n cheese and sweet potato fries to share. Katsu bowl severely lacked seasoning and flavour. Food was great as always , 5 star for food But really confused on the service by a waitress at Crosby, multiple times we have been now and had the same problem every time and I’m baffled Me and my partner always know what we are getting an are ready to order soon as we arrive obviously soon as waitress is ready but when they take our drinks we say can we order food to and literally get told no every time. I recently ordered a takeaway for 2 via just eat which came to £40. I don’t mind paying a lot if the quality and quantity is there but in this case neither delivered. The roast potato’s were £4.50 and it is was literally one potato cut into 4, the larger pieces weren’t even cooked through! I called the restaurant and the lady just said that’s what you get! She agrees it’s disgusting but that’s just it! If I’d have been in the restaurant I’d I’ve sent it back! The broccoli we ordered was massively underwhelming for £6.50, soggy and 3 pieces bent over! Whilst the service was good but a tad on the slow side, the chicken wings I ordered were small and tasted like they'd been frozen for long enough to give them that dry textured freezer burn flavour, the salt and pepper chips were equally disappointing as they were undercooked and soggy all I can say is that it was a good job I'd had a few pints before consuming or I'd have given them one star. Lewis Morgan Hannah are without a shadow of doubt the nicest friendliest hard working chicken gurus, the location just on SOTH ROAD CROSBY Spitroast SCOUSE is a must and the food is fresh cooked in an open kitchen and would recommend Spitroast to anyone looking for a healthy option with flavour. Had a wild misunderstanding due to the ambiguous name of this establishment. Not what I was searching Google for folks. Ended up getting escorted out of the place actually. Security were gentle and whilst being carried out the food smelled delicious so I will certainly be returning in the future. The food here is spectacular, especially the teriyaki broccoli (which I was quite on the fence about when ordering). Service was amazing from our waitress Hannah who made our experience enjoyable from the minute we walked in. First time trying this place and I must say that we will be returning.
