Splashes - Réservation de table

We celebrated a milestone birthday last night at Splashes. Our group of four was staying in three rooms in the hotel, which we have been staying in regularly since 1992. We had requested a specific table near the water inside the restaurant. Upon arrival we were told that particular table was taken, as were all tables adjacent to the windows looking over the water. The greeter informed us we could move to our requested table when the current occupants left. When the occupants did leave, we were not offered the table, which instead went to a couple who had been sitting next at two top next to the four top. Feeble effort. I have been dining at Splashes on and off for almost 25 years. They were and still are one of my favorite spots for dining by the water where I can truly enjoy a nice meal with my loved ones and special guests while listening to the splashes of the waves and watching the California sun setting above the ocean. If you are seated at the lobby level, make sure to walk to the lower level where you can enjoy the close-up views of the water and waves splashing against the big rocks below. We tried the tuna poke, lamb shank, and branzino.Tuna was interesting, but it had some unpleasant bitter notes and the oatmeal just doesn't work with it. Also ended up sick later that night, and I suspect this was the culprit.Lamb shank was nice, but a little boring. It's served with pickles, and those were bitter, which kind of ruined it.Branzino was the best of the three, but it comes with a spätzle that was just awful. It had no flavor and it was really greasy because the cream sauce had broken. Really bad.The service was fine, and the ambience was as expected. The food sounds good on paper but doesn't work. Considering the prices, I really recommend you go somewhere else.

The restaurant and hotel clearly forgot to deactivate their OpenTable account during their summer renovation closure! As a result, many people, including myself, booked a Father's Day brunch only to arrive on the day and find the place completely shut down. The site even sent confirmation days in advance, including parking instructions. We had to scramble to find an alternative last-minute holiday brunch nearby—what a disaster! One would expect a hotel charging thousands for rooms to have better management. Instead, it seems like it's just a group of investors running things poorly. Good luck to them! For my daughter's birthday, we requested a view table, yet didn't get one. Having placed the request, if this wasn't available, they should have let me know so I could make plans elsewhere. As such, I feel I paid for having a view table that I didn't get. I'm not sure that is any different from ordering and paying for a steak and being served a hamburger. That said, the food and service was fine, but a bit pricy. The restaurant location is a bit weird, as it appeared to be a make-shift restaurant made up of one room and and a couple of patios.

Overall, we were quite disappointed with our experience. While we didn’t mind the stairs leading to the bar, the service was slow, the menu options were limited, and some of the windows were broken. Additionally, the window near our table couldn’t be opened because the guests in the booth asked not to. There was also an error in the billing, among other issues. This is not the lively restaurant we were anticipating; it felt more like a bar area. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

This is a smaller, cozy space currently undergoing significant renovations at Surf Sand. It's exciting to anticipate what the final result will look like. Despite the construction impact, the cuisine is outstanding. I'm glad it's still open, even in a more limited capacity. The food is always consistently delicious, and the service is exceptional.

Everything was so delicious, from the cocktails to the desert, it was all wonderful. Carson, our waiter, was amazing and so kind. He was always checking in and gave great recommendations. Definitely would recommend, and also the views are breathtaking Réservez une table maintenant

Be warned that the hotel is going through major redesign. Parking is non existent. Either use valet or park on the street. Free parking after 7 pm. Currently the sidewalks are not open in some areas. They state they will be fully open in May.

Food is okay but the service and the view is amazing! We booked a family lunch for 6 and got arranged to the best seat unexpectedly. Not wheelchair friendly but two guys can easily handle it ??
