Stadtkrug Altstadtbrauhaus

As we were looking for a cozy, restaurant for a lunch on a Saturday, we chose this restaurant despite the reputation on truipadvisor. And I have to say, I was surprised. I can only agree that the service was partially very slow and not that inattentive. But the German food had good quality and very far from a tourist trap level. Their standard beers (a Kellerbier and a darker one are delicious and reasonably priced. I guess that the bad reviews come from very price sensitive people. I would definitely come to this restaurant again. Very genuine brewery style restaurant in an area which is not known for this :

Schwerin is a beautiful city surrounded with lakes and a lot of green schwerin is a beautiful city surrounded with lakes and a lot of green forests. This restaurant is inside the old town near the old city hall. The restaurant is beautiful decorated, For a starter I ordered Tomatoes soup that was very tasty. Main course chicken with mix of vegetables on a pan- good. My wife took the the Wiener Schnitzel that was very good. Beer is good in a brewery- always! enjoy

A nice atmosphere in a great location. Unfortunately we found out, that a mouse is living in the dining room. When we approached the staff with our findings and leaving the rest of our meal untouched, the reply from the staff were so it 's an old building . We have no idea if there were also mice in the kitchen, but one of us didn 't feel well afterwards!

Very nice interior. Prime location in city centre. Quick and accurate service despite a crowded dining room. Food is good though not excellent but then again, you don't pay for gourmet dinner here.

This place is a joke ! Saturday evening, 9:15 …impossible to have a drink: ‘Jetz ist Feierabend ! Wir sind geschlossen’ Official closing time is 11:00pm… you just don’t want to work !
