Right, if you can put the dodgy 70s’ carpet to one side and focus on the food, this is the place for you. Yes, the pub is shabby, but the welcome is warm and the curries amply portioned and delicious. Following the advice of friends, we opted not to order a starter: they had visited earlier in the week and found there was simply too much food to dispatch comfortably. The pub was busy, so there was a bit of a wait for the food to arrive, but when it did we were not disappointed: my Lamb Methi was spicy, but fragrant and my wife’s House Biryani was packed with tender prawns, lamb and chicken.
