Well what can I say after a long wait 25 minutes on a Tuesday evening I would have appreciated. My food and atmosphere to be a great experience but to my surprise they sat us on a table close to the kitchen when there’s was more tables available I kinda got a glimpse of the kitchen and they’re low maintenance after a long wait I received my sushi with the avocado Inside dark brown, I asked the server and she said it was part of the avocado I added pictures down there so you guys can see the cucumber salad was great. The edamame are super crispy. What does itself the cleaning in this Establishment is not the best shame on you starfish sushi, Downey
I love Starfish Sushi it is my go-to sushi spot. They have good service have never waited too long for my food and they have never given me any problems and have been kind and polite. They have really good food and I always try something new I love their burrito roll and their sukiyaki bowl can't wait to try takoyaki there for the first time and I find the atmosphere pleasing it's not too loud and I can enjoy food and time with my family. Only bummer for me was when the menu changed and sukiyaki was taken off the bento box but it pushed me to try new things.
Our last Visit on a Saturday afternoon. Service was not good waited 20 to 30 minutes for a server just to order drinks?? Food quality was ok once we finally got our sushi, I've noticed now since coming here last few times is the rolls completely come apart when your ready to pick them up to eat,it's such a same the rolls are not completely wrapped around.
Been here a few times with my family and never have been disappointed. The most recent visit, we noticed they had changed their interior. It looks soooo beautiful and gives the restaurant a very nice comfortable vibe. Love it here. The food as always so delicious and fast service. Very attentive to your needs. Love love!!!

The sushi rolls are a generous size and very flavorful. The staff was courteous and experienced. I did find the vegetable egg roll filling consistency a bit soft, like a puree. The interior is newly remolded and beautiful. Best sushi place in Downey.
Had a great time celebrating my b-day nice place, the food was delicious and the servers were very friendly, prompt and just excellent highly recommend it.
It’s a nice venue, and fairly large. Service started off good and then we had no service after 20 mins into our meal. Food was fairly good.
Ordered food to go. The lady was very gracious. The food was wonderful and plentiful. Very good food indeed.

There was really nothing special about the restaurant. But also nothing bad about the restaurant as well.
I came back after a few months and they did a nice renovation. and food is always delicious
