Just back from this kitchen/bar. I ordered chicken and ribs. my sides were salad greens and broccolini. I had sliced broiled mushrooms as an 'extra'. the portion of ribs sat on top of the flattened chicken breast but I wanted to try it first, so cut off a piece and was disappointed that it was just lukewarm and 'floppy' for want of a better discription. touched the plate and thought, well it seems cooked but is probably cold because the plate was cold. the broccolini was just warm too. My husband and I were in Cambridge and we decided to go here for lunch. The restaurant is decorated in dark rich wood colours along with the colour black. Tables are dark brown with black chairs. Dark brown floors and large light fixtures give this place a warm cozy feel. Tv's with sports playing. We were seated by one of the waiters. They didn't have a hostess around. The waiter seated and asked if we would like a beverage. Now I like a restaurant that brings you water than asks if you prefer a beverage. I hate asking for water. And I love restaurants that bring you bread. Well this restaurant didn't do either but that's not a deal breaker. To me this restaurant looks a little like the Keg....

The menu offered quite a variety of dishes. I ordered the fish tacos. The fish wasn't very fresh (fishy taste), but the tacos were generally good. My husband enjoyed his sandwich and my chidlren both loved the chicken strips. Generally, the food was very salty. Service was fairly efficient, although rather slow. I had to ask the hostess to sweep under my table and chairs as there were pieces of broccoli and pasta stars left behind by the baby who had been seated at the table before us. Cambridge doesn't have a lot of great restaurant choices. I'll probably return.

All around enjoyable experience. Went for lunch with the family and everyone seemed to enjoy their selections. Portion sizes were large and a decent amount of options for food and beer. The staff was friendly and checked on the table the appropriate amount of times. Would go back when I am in town next. Réservez une table maintenant

I was impressed by the decor and the many choices on the menu. That is where it ends. Husband got fish tacos, they were average. I got Teriyaki Rice bowl. The chicken was definitely reheated, didn't taste right. Rice was over cooked in a mushy...More

State and Main is a great place to have a good dinner. From steaks, to burgers, to ribs, to chicken to chicken wings. Good salads and friendly atmosphere. I love the wings!!! I recommend for sure.

Went for a bite to eat after the theatre . Nice atmosphere ,food was good and plentiful and service was great. Definitely try the corn bread as one of your sides with your meal.

Not sure why this place has a 4-star rating maybe they were good when they first opened few years agounfortunately, I didn't have as stellar
