My recent experience at Steak and Shake left me feeling quite let down. The charm of waitresses and traditional counter service seems to have vanished—now, customers must order food from a kiosk and serve themselves. The nostalgic diner atmosphere has been lost, lacking paper placemats, condiment caddies, and any real interaction with staff. Although the food was still enjoyable, the shift to this self-service model is disappointing. It appears to be a cost-cutting strategy that sacrifices both jobs and the customer experience. Is it really necessary for everything to be self-service these days? It’s disheartening to witness such changes in a once cherished establishment.
This used to be a great place to order food, but not anymore. This is the second time in a row that my fries were missing. My drink also spilled and leaked everywhere. The driver took a long time to arrive, and by the time I got my food, it was cold. The burger buns were burnt, and they served them anyway. I paid $28 for a single cold cheeseburger that was barely edible, and everything else was either missing or ruined. I really dislike having to leave a review like this.
I received all of my food extremely cold. The delivery driver had to wait over 20 minutes for the order, and even though he arrived promptly, the food was not hot at all. It wasn't the driver's fault. Additionally, the milkshake was terrible; it had an unpleasant aftertaste. I wouldn't recommend spending your money on this restaurant.
I ordered a hot dog combo through DoorDash, and unfortunately, the hot dog was inedible; it was completely burnt and charred. When I attempted to contact the restaurant to report the problem, they kept answering the call and then hanging up right away. I would not recommend this place.

It was alright; I haven't been there in many years. A lot has changed—there's no more waitress service. You place your order at a kiosk, similar to McDonald's. They bring your food to you, and then you find a seat. I really wish they still had that taco salad.
The Frisco melt was delicious as always, but the fries were disappointing—they're usually better than this. I also paid for ranch but didn't receive it.
Two missing items. Realized it at home. Had drive again. No refund offered. No one pays for my gas....
The staff was excellent, and the food was delightful. The manager was very friendly and accommodating.

It's great, although I'm not a fan of the fries; that's just my personal preference.
The big hamburger special for $4 (August 2020) is fantastic and definitely worth it!
