We spent the day at Manhattan Beach and decided to try the restaurant based on a recommendation from a good friend. Since it was during the COVID lockdown, the dining area was closed. I found it easy to place our order online, and our food arrived right on time. We took our meals down to the beach and discovered that a flashlight we had dropped into the bag made for a perfect lantern for our picnic. COVID UPDATE: Don't forget to bring a mask. Opting for the “Nozawa — Trust Me” option will set you back around $50 per person, making this place on the expensive side if you're after the best. But trust me, it's absolutely worth it. The service was outstanding, and the food was so delicious it could ruin other sushi for you. Street parking can be a hassle, but the meters in Manhattan Beach accept credit cards. We visited for lunch and were seated right away. I’d give it a 10/10 and will definitely return after a 20-mile bike ride.

This place did not impress me at all. The sushi was far from good. The rice was so loose that I couldn't even pick up the sushi with chopsticks, let alone dip it in soy sauce. The quality of the fish was underwhelming and nothing special. I ordered the "trust me" option and still left hungry after my meal. I would much prefer to spend my money at a legitimate Japanese restaurant that truly understands sushi, rather than this disappointing experience.
The portion sizes are extremely small, about a third of what you'd expect. Everything feels tiny and overpriced, and the food is mediocre at best. The servers are rude and often provide incorrect information. They add a tip charge, which they refer to as a fee, leaving you no option but to pay it, regardless of the service you receive. As a result, the staff seem indifferent to how they treat customers. I strongly advise against dining there!
The wait time was much shorter than I anticipated, lasting about 30 minutes before we were seated. The service was excellent, and the food was incredible. You can't surpass the freshness of Sugarfish's fish. It's definitely a must-try if you haven't experienced it yet.
Always amazing! The only downside is the wait time for orders. We placed our order right when they opened, yet still waited an hour to pick it up. I highly recommend the "Don't Think. Just Eat. Trust Me." and the combo cut rolls. We enjoyed our meal in the car!
