Sur le Pont - Réservation de table

We ate here twice during our week-long stay in the area and we enjoyed both visits. The setting of this restaurant is just lovely; on an island on the River Cher. On the first visit, we said inside and on the second, we said outside...on the terrace right next to the water. It was glorious in such hot weather. As our visits were on the same week, the menu was the same, so we could try out most of it. Their menu is not extensive and we ignored the pizzas, though we did like the look of them nice thin crust with generous toppings. L'endroit est très agréable, juste près de la rivière Cher. Nous avons réservé une table et une fois assis, nous avons remarqué que d'autres personnes arrivaient sans réservation mais étaient servies immédiatement. Il a d'abord fallu du temps avant que la serveuse vienne nous apporter le menu.... Les personnes arrivées après nous avaient déjà leur entrée, voire même leur plat principal. Et cela a été ainsi pendant tout le dîner, les gens arrivant après nous recevaient leurs assiettes très rapidement et nous étions obligés d'attendre et d'attendre. J'étais tellement fatigué d'attendre que nous avons sauté le dessert et demandé l'addition qui est arrivée rapidement. Les entrées étaient simples...

Le restaurant était fermé lorsque nous voulions réserver, donc nous avons envoyé un email le jeudi pour une réservation du vendredi soir avec notre numéro de téléphone en cas de problème. Nous sommes arrivés à l'heure convenue pour nous faire dire qu'ils n'avaient aucune réservation. On nous a alors proposé une table en bas de marches raides malgré le fait que ma femme ait une canne blanche et des lunettes noires (déficit visuel). Ils ont ensuite suggéré qu'elle marche quelques mètres sur l'allée et revienne le long de la rivière. Nous avons expliqué que ce n'était pas possible en raison d'une opération du genou. The lovely wife and I ate here on the way back to our accomodation having visited the zooparc. Having been past several times I am glad we finally stopped for food. BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL!! It's not the biggest restaurant in the world, it gets busy...and as ever for the French one cover per table is plenty. A warm welcome and delightful and small menu with an explanation of the daily dishes. We both had pizza and they wonderful, with light crisp thin bases generously topped. Nice surprise was a dish of snacks to enjoy with our aperitif, I highly recommend the kir pettillant with peach Will doubtless return with our next visit to the zooparc Réservez une table maintenant

In mid September a lot of the restaurants in St Aignan are closing for the season or only opening a few nights a week so we booked this hotel on a day when everyone was dining al fresco by the river. However they have two...floors indoors, and when we went it was raining so we ate inside. It had a good ambiance and friendly staff. Menu included pizzas, a fish dish, platter of cured meats and fondu, steak, and salads. Simple, good food.

Our family of four visited twice and was turnt away both times. Once we were told too late but then saw two other couples arrive and be seated. Second time we arrived early but were told no more tables free when there where two empty....These were free the rest of the night as we got takeaway pizza and sat in the park and saw. I’m not sure whether it was the language barrier but staff were so rude.

Je suis allé au restaurant Sur Le Pont pour l'anniversaire de ma belle-soeur. C'est un petit restaurant joliment présenté situé juste à côté du pont à St Aignan. Le personnel était très sympathique et attentionné, la nourriture était très bonne malgré un petit menu. Dans l'ensemble, une atmosphère très détendue mais intime.

A repeat visit with family living in the village. Food was great. All four of us had the gazpacho soup followed by the entrecôte with salad and frites... boring but delicious. The pizzas at the adjacent table looked fab. Great views and also loved hearing...the river flow past and down the weir. Réservez une table maintenant

Un charmant restaurant au milieu du pont. Menu varié, belle cuisine maison. Belles vues sur la rivière jusqu'au château et à l'église de St Aignan. Personnel serviable et sympathique.

Were recommended this restaurant by the hotel where we were staying. As the name suggests on a bridge overlooking the river. Service was excellent as was the reasonably priced food.
