The dishes we tried were absolutely AMAZING! They really made my birthday weekend special! The Tin Can Nachos are more than enough for four people to share, but since there were just two of us, we opted for a half order. The mac and cheese was rich and deliciously cheesy! Now, moving on to the entrees… they were OUTSTANDING! We ordered the pastrami sandwich and the tuna poke bowl. While they may seem like simple dishes, what they did with them truly impressed us! I was really excited to try this restaurant and I'm so glad I recommended it to my family. Initially, I was a bit concerned because it was a rainy day and the parking wasn't ideal. When we arrived as a group of five, they seated us in a corner and squeezed in an extra chair. However, everything after that was fantastic. My father and I had the pulled pork, which could have used a bit more BBQ sauce, but the wings were crispy and cooked perfectly. My mother ordered tacos, my girlfriend had the Alabama chicken sandwich, and my sister enjoyed the Oaxaca Chicken bowl. The chips and salsa were delicious as well. This was my first visit, and I was excited to try the food in a welcoming atmosphere. I was hoping for a great local BBQ spot. Sadly, the food didn’t live up to my expectations. I ordered the BBQ sampler to try a variety of meats. While the brisket was decent, the ribs and sausage were surprisingly bland—something I've never encountered in BBQ before. The fries that others ordered were also disappointing. To be honest, I've had better ribs at Outback or the nearby Salt Creek Grill.
The NCAA Men's Basketball tournament was in full swing, and it felt like every bar was buzzing with energy. There were good crowds everywhere. However, our server seemed a bit worn out from the earlier rush from Villanova fans and wasn't as informative or attentive as we had hoped. Despite that, our experience was still decent, and we’re looking forward to going back.

This restaurant is way too expensive for what you get! I ordered a very small salad with grilled carrots, some greens, and pulled chicken for $21, and it wasn't filling at all. My partner and son had pulled pork sandwiches, and with no appetizers or dessert, our total came to over $85. There are much better options nearby that offer much more for your money.
The wings were excellent—smoked and then deep-fried to perfection. You can really taste the smoky flavor, and I appreciated that the sauce was served on the side. The burger was decent, but it didn’t have any special sauce. For a BBQ place, I think they need to come up with a signature burger sauce to elevate the dish.
I had a reservation for 6:30 but ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes to be seated. There is only street parking available, and on a Saturday night, I had to park a couple of blocks away. However, the food and service were good, and the portions were generous.
Fantastic place! The atmosphere is laid-back, and the food was excellent. The wings are some of the best I’ve had in ages. The drinks were outstanding as well. This will definitely be my go-to beach spot. I can't wait to come back next weekend!

The food was absolutely delicious! I really loved the outdoor backyard area. Our server, Melanie, was fantastic, and we received excellent service despite the restaurant being busy. I highly recommend Surf Rumson!
