This is the best Japanese restaurant I've ever visited in LA. They serve the most amazing uni and sweet shrimp, offering both Santa Barbara uni and Japanese uni. Personally, I prefer the Santa Barbara uni because it's large and sweet. The staff are friendly and always refill my drink without me having to ask. My favorite dish is the fish roe and uni bowl; I wasn't even a fan of fish roe until I tried it here. Reservation online is for omakase only! We called to make a reservation because one of us doesn’t eat raw fish so gotta do a la carte for her. Friendly staff and casual ambience here Two other people got omakase, pretty good deal as there were 13 pcs 1 premium signature hand roll for $160 per person. We also ordered wagyu sushi for $20/2 pcs, which I personally prefer Ootoro a bit more. Blue crab hand roll also tastes okay, sugarfish is better in my opinion. The seafood here is incredibly fresh. The staff were friendly and professional, though the holiday rush seemed to leave the restaurant a bit understaffed. They did apologize for any delays.
