"I was looking for a small shushi restaurant and found this jem. I had kanpachi, shimaaji, Hiram, Toro, a spicy roll and BBQ salmon skin salad. All very good but I like the best the toro (tuna belly).Would recommend you call ahead to make reservation."

I booked L’s birthday dinner at Sushi Hachi Japanese Restaurant. Run by a husband and wife team, Sushi Hachi is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Reservations are required, as the small restaurant is perpetually booked. I invited N and Beep Beep to L’s dinner. N asked if she could bring her new gentleman friend A-OK. When I spoke to the owner to request an extra seat, I confided to the owner that I was excited to dine at his restaurant. He sounded pleased, but cautiously mentioned that he only serves sushi and sashimi. There is no teriyaki or tempura on the menu. I told him that was fine with me, as I’ve been to Japan before and I’m aware of the difference between real su...

Hi Friends! I finally did it! Did what you ask? I finally had my first full-on Japanese sushi experience in Vancouver at Sushi Hachi. I had this a lot when I was in Japan but I have never been able to spoil myself with such luxury in Vancouver. We got to Sushi Hachi at 6:30pm in time for our reservation. I’m so glad that he made a reservation because it’s so hard to get a spot at Sushi Hachi and on our way in we saw a sign at the door that said that they were all booked up! I’ve been to Japanese owned sushi spots before like Kazu and Seto but this experience felt completely different.

You know what my comfort food is? Sushi. I've always enjoy watching vloggers try out high-end fine dining level sushi in Japan. Seeing the chef make each individual nigiri or roll (preferably nigiri, as it sounds a bit more classier). Because cretiveiy is something I try to bring in all aspects, I combine the watching of these youtube videos with a casual take-out nigiri combo and pretend that I am feasting on the best the world has to offer. Which never works...

Cute family run Japanese eatery that specializes in raw cuts that are super fresh. Prices are steep, and I think that their sushi rice could use a lot of work, it does have the same fragrance as other places. Especially when the sushi is simple I want me some good sushi rice. Not a very diverse menu, not the best place for parties or kids. Service is slow, restaurant is small. Come here if you want a nice place with simple eats.
