Recently we went to Sushi Kushi Toyo in Lake Forest for lunch and had terrible experience. It was not busy during our lunch. Our waiter was doing a little cleaning with broom and dustpan at reception area. When he served us water, I noticed he was holding cap with hands touching top part (edge) of the cups. Stopped at this sushi place for quick lunch on the weekend. I ordered Philly and Crazy rolls. The wrapper was extremely tough and chewy. Crazy roll was interesting, but was missing a crunch. My wife liked her order though. Service was good, but I felt that the prices were too high for the quality.
The sushi was fresh and amazing! Will definitely come back. The waitress was super nice and helped us when we didn’t know what to order. She showed us the picture menu. She even told us that the sushi bar was getting busy so if we want to order we should order it now so we can get it quicker.
Sushi Kushi never disappoints. From the moment “Annie” the steadfast, ever delightful icon of this location, along with a staff of All pro's that always deliver a stellar performance welcome you, settle in and let the chefs lead you down the path of Omakase delight.

This is a very nice restaurant, very clean and harmonious, we had a very pleasant afternoon, the staff patiently told us how to make tea, they were friendly, I will introduce it to my other friends, come and enjoy it.
Some of the nigiri and gunkan sushi were very very salty, not sure if we had an unlucky batch or if they hired a new chef recently. Service was pretty slow too.
Subpar sushi (dry rice, not fresh ingredients) for a premium price — paid about $100 for 7 rolls but should’ve just gotten gas station sushi for $30 instead.
They have a large menu offering many traditional Japanese dishes. Great place for getting a bunch of different dishes to share.
