Sushi Oh Oo in Five Dock is a small Japanese Restaurant that I would class as more a takeaway than a dine-in experience. It’s a very narrow restaurant with a few tables in a single line that lead to where you order and pay. My experience until recently has to only order takeaway. The food on those occasions weren’t disappointing but not out of the ordinary. So on Christmas Eve we decided to dine in. The menu is the usual fair of Teriyaki, Katsu and Tempura dishes, fish, chicken, beef and seafood. We ordered the homemade steamed gyoza, which I must say, were delicious. For a main my wife ordered the Tempura U-don 1 pc prawn and 2 pcs vegetable tempura served separately with Japanese u-don sou...
really love the food in this restaurant. people line up onto the street to order food to eat In or take-away. extremely fresh sushi/sashimi of quality grade. good broad range of foods to order from their menu if you're not particularly a seafood lover.prompt friendly service. but having said that the restaurant itself is small and pokey and can sometimes be agitating. especially when they are busy and people are crushing in. also unpleasant if you are sitting next to inconsiderate diners being In such close quarters. I have discovered that going there outside of peak hours best for a relaxing enjoyable meal. this eatery would highly benefit from considering a larger premises.
I'm a regular here and with good reason. The taste and flavors of Japan are on point. Ingredients are always fresh and well priced the wasabi has a good kick to it here also.I normally don't like udon noodles but they are are cooked well and have a good texture.The lotus chips are a must if you ever pop here. Almost always it's full too and can be expected to wait for a seat. But so worth the wait you won't be disappointed.
