Sweet Amber Brew Cafe

We were wandering along semaphore road on a sunny Sunday looking for somewhere to have a drink and a bit of something to eat. We happen upon sweet amber brew cafe and decide to have a quick look at the menu in the window. The menu is composed of charcuterie and cheese, house made dips and sandwiches, but really great sounding sandwiches, one of which was a Rueben and that is how we found ourselves sitting in the garden at the back sipping a few cold drinks and waiting for the Rueben. A lazy Saturday afternoon and we headed to Semaphore when we stumbled across this hidden cafe. We were after a quick bite to eat and the sweet Amber cafe came to the rescue. I had the pepperoni sandwich which was packed full of chorizo like pepperoni, melted cheese, tangy chutney and a delicious pesto between crispy fresh toasted bread. My husband ate the reuben, packed with cheese, sauerkraut and roast beef. They were both tasty and reasonably priced. 2 ciders went down well with our food. The cafe offers loads of beer and cider and staff are happy to help with selections to suit your food. There's also a beer garden out the back. What a quirky surprise on Semaphore Road! Very retro, cute concept with specialised home made pizza, cheeses selection of cold meats in nibble plates with wine or the boutique range of beers. Good before or after the movies next door or a great meeting place for pre dinner at any of the Semaphore restaurants.Parking on Semaphore Road can be tricky in summer but easy in winter. Fantastic to see local young entrepreneurs in action

Such a lovely place to go for a meal. Had lunch with a friend. Staff were lovely, friendly and courteous. They asked if we wanted to split the cost and were happy to accommodate us when we did. Food was absolutely delicious. There was also a large variety of ciders to choose from. Was there about midday on a Saturday and it was a very calm and peaceful place, perfect to catch up with friends. Would definitely go there again. Réservez une table maintenant

Quiet little place with some great beers on offer.....especially the ones they brew themselves available on tap. Decided to follow on with something to eat and ordered a couple of pizzas which were surprisingly simple, good and very fresh. This place I am sure will be rating it's socks off!

Finally, a beer cafe that sells great beer. The taps change so often that you'll never be starved for choice. If the tapped beer doesn't take your fancy, you'll find a fully stocked beer fridge of Willy Wonka proportions. Not to mention, the pizza setup on Wednesday nights is awesome. KCCO!

Sweet amber is an awesome beer and cider cafe. Its a small venue in a historical suburb with great atmosphere. Delicious wood oven pizzas, a wide range of craft beers including their own brew. Awesome service! Highly recommend.

Being a local I always find this place a great stop in for a quick pint or two and amazing food. Good variety of music, furniture reminds me on grannie kitchen. Beer garden is great on a warm day. Réservez une table maintenant

Semaphore is clearly on the up & sweet amber is a refreshing change to the stock standard pub. Lots on great beers on tap and some fun ones in the fridge. The alcoholic ginger beer was unreal

Staff are so friendly and accommodating, beautiful home made dips, love the locally sourced produce and all reasonably priced . Definitely coming back :)
