I grew up just around the corner! My grandfather would pick up my siblings and me at 6:00 AM on weekends to go get donuts and pastries—it was a family tradition! I have to say, they’re still using the same fantastic recipes! Everything is always so fresh and delicious! The owner, John, has a genuinely friendly nature and creates such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My family takes trips nearby and far every year just to visit the Swiss Pastry Shoppe! Oh, and you absolutely have to try the carrot muffins—they're amazing!
I wish I could show the cake I ordered from this great pastry shop. It was a Strawberry Short Cake with whipped cream icing. Not only was it beautiful, it was huge and DELICIOUS. It was for my sister’s birthday and she absolutely loved it. Everyone raved about the lite taste and fresh strawberry filling. Everything we have bought from here over the years never yields disappointment. We love this place and the service has always been top notch.
I’m so glad I discovered a local bakery with incredible treats and a friendly staff. The crumb cake is, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had—it's even made it into my dreams! The almond horns have quickly become another favorite of mine. The Danish pastries and donuts are all fresh and delicious. Their rugelach is also a huge hit and absolutely delightful. You won’t be disappointed!
This restaurant is a hidden gem! My top picks are the blueberry muffin, brownie, and cheesecake. You can also order rolls for your holiday celebrations, but be sure to place your order well in advance! This place is a beloved staple in the community and has been around longer than I have, and for good reason. The prices are fantastic as well.

This bakery is a secret gem. I drive 30 min to come since there is nothing close to this in Hillsborough. I grew up in Fanwood and then Watchung, our birthday cakes were always from the Swiss Pastry shop. On short notice they made a chocolate mousse cake for us, they are simply the best!
I couldn't find a bakery that makes birthday cakes with a slice of cheesecake and strawberries. I called her and they said yes, they did. Cake was absolutely delicious. I recommend this bakery for this kind of cake. Thank you Swiss!
This bakery is local with on street parking, along with a parking lot. The items are always fresh and reasonably priced. Get there early for the popular items like carrot cake muffins and other yummy treats that sell out quickly.
Definitely one of the best bakeries in NJ! If you’re there early enough make sure to try one of their bagels! Best in town!
