So glad we stumbled upon Taiwan Popcorn Chicken the other night. Having grown up in Taiwan, this store is literally the fried carts commonly found in day/night markets in Taiwan. If you're not familiar with these fried carts, they will literally throw everything and their kitchen sink into the deep fryer, fresh, for you. Everything just tastes better freshly fried, and that includes popcorn chicken (the name of the store), calamari, oysters, and even pig's blood cake. They do sell other stuff like bento boxes (also filled with fried goodness) if you're looking for more of a meal. Parking is quite good as it is located within a large strip mall.
I had this yesterday after work and I was very surprised and glad I went here. I got the popcorn chicken spicy, fries and taro milk tea with Boba. It did take quite a bit for it to come out. Around 24 minutes which is pretty long in my opinion. The food was very good and a very good spice level. They didn't have ranch which I was surprised. Their milk tea wasn't that bad either. Bobas were a bit hard but that's ok. Other than that not a bad experience. Just wish they had ranch and the wait wasn't as long.

This review is based off of an Uber eat delivery. I ordered a green milk tea and a taro milk tea and both were just underwhelming. Like 1/5 for both of them. Boba was hard (maybe because the delivery). The 3 stars are for the popcorn chicken that I ordered that was just amazing (5/5). I would definitely go back for the chicken but probably not the drinks. There are better boba shops in Irvine.
DO NOT ORDER MULTIPLE ITEMS. We ordered three fried items and they gave us a sad little bag. They gave us a small bag as if we only ordered one item instead of three. Not worth. Perhaps asking to bag separately would be better...Service was also extremely lacking. We waited at least 20 minutes for one tiny bag of food. :
very good popcorn chicken! I am a fan of popcorn chicken and this store definitely has the better ones.
Service was great. The food was excellent. My children approved of the popcorn chicken!
