This restaurant is located in West Richmond in the Seafair shopping mall complex at the corner of Number 1 Road and Francis Road.We arrived around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon and the small 30 seat restaurant was not overly busy and we were able to get a table right away.The two of us shared the following:• Takoyaki ($5.95) – 5 battered and deep fried balls with small pieces of octopus garnished with a mayonnaise and sweet tonkatsu type sauce• Combo A ($11.25) – 3 sushi rolls; one each of California, cucumber and dynamite roll• Mini assorted sashimi ($16.45) – 9 pieces of salmon, tuna and fatty tuna; 3 pieces eachThe takoyaki balls were light, not greasy and tasted okay.The sushi rolls were...

One of our favorite places to get sushi. Always good value and good selection. We often do pick ups during the week. Please be aware that pick ups generally take 20-25 minutes. We don't mind because we always have freshly rolled sushi. Just make sure you take in consideration the time because they always have numerous pick up orders which shows you that a lot of locals call in which is definitely a good sign.The only thing they can improve on the teriyaki chicken. Most Japanese restaurants cook the chicken half breast with the skin on and pan fry it. This restaurant does not. Early dinner, but the place was already busier than a bee hive in a clover field. Had to wait a while for a table, but it gave the three of us time to decide what to order. I was told that the tempura was a must, so we ordered two assorted tempura, a tempura donburi and a dynamite roll. Tea was complimentary. We were not disappointed. Will have to try other things on the menu and report back to you. Definitely a place for Japanese food, but be prepared to wait, unless you want take out.

We've been coming to Takeya for years and years. Situated in a mall, the looks are unpretentious but the food is excellent. Takeya is the smaller takeout sister of Ichiro, the best Japanese restaurant in the lower mainland. The menu items are not nearly as varied as at the senior place, but the execution is always excellent. This little place is a not so well kept secret among locals. Réservez une table maintenant

The take out is as good as dinning inn. All you have to do is watch the foot traffic in and out. I recommend the pork Kats udon and dynamite roll.its fast efficient and reasonable you won't be disappointed

So I love this place. I always order from Takeya sushi when I need Japanese food for take-out. NOW they provide recyclable packaging, no more styrofoam. More than ever I recommend this place

Great sushi served in a timely fashion. Our go to sushi place is Mt Fuji Sushi in Ladner but they are closed Tuesdays so we decided to try here. Was not disappointed

Came for a nice family dinner. Chef was great food was fabulous. Highly recommended scallops, Shrimp and filet.
