This is a newly discovered jewel. We came many years ago, but it's a bit far from home. After the Mexican restaurants in the highlands were a bit boring, we decided to go back. So glad we did. My brother had Carne asada fajitas. He loved her and said the onion was perfectly cooked and the beef was tasteful and well seasoned. I had Carnitas Tacos. They were pretty good, but a little too much tortilla. They were doubled, but very thick. Good texture and taste and I think they are homemade. Not authentic mexican, but nothing in the PNW is really. I give this place low marks for several reasons. While a few people saw me when I arrived, it took almost 5 minutes to ask me how they could help me and when I asked for a table, he saw trapped by the guard. Why would I be there?!? Once sitting, it took forever for someone to take my order. When ordering my choices, it was like my server tried to tell me when what I wanted to calculate $10 extra for Carne and Carnitas. Tapatio Mexican Grill never disappoints. The menu, food and drinks are always excellent. The fresh baked chips and salsa are delicious. We've been coming to Tapatio for years, both with and without our kids. As is often the case, during this meal we encountered several friends who we don't see often enough and enjoyed catching up. We all agreed that Tapatio is truly the best neighborhood restaurant for enjoying a meal and reconnecting with family, friends and the community. Tapatio is a longtime favorite place to eat.
Have eaten here pretty regularly, can always count on good food. This was my first tome using OpenTable to dine there. This was awesome. There is usually a pretty good wait for a table, but this time, I was able to just walk in and sit right down. My only complaint is the noise, but what do you expect with a place that's so busy? Living currently in San Diego where delicious authentic Mexican food abounds, I am on the constant hunt to find it wherever I go. Tapatio Mexican Grill meets up to the task. The Guadalajara enchiladas made with house made corn tortillas were fantastic. The beans (both black and redried) and rice were delicious a must for authenticity.
