Appearances can be deceptive: great black, white and grey scheme, well lit space and marvelous tiled floor and good looking baked goods, falsely raises expectations that the food would match the decor.Sadly it did not come in close.The asparagus ricotta slice was generous in size, but the wrong ends of the asparagus the thick lower stems covered the surface and they were so hard and stringy they were inedible. I assumed the ricotta layer underneath the asparagus would at least make up for the fibrous veggie but there was no layer under it just little crumbs in between the asparagus which hardly made a teaspoon of ricotta.So after a couple of bites on a slice that I had asked to reheat twice...
Tatte's is now a Boston fixture. Definitely stop in here if you haven't. I was here in July 2025 and experienced this for the first time. Very impressed. Service is great, the pastries are equally good and the options for lunch or dining not bad either. Well crafted and served. I would recommend this over Starbucks if you are in the area. The restaurant was extremely busy during my visit. I ordered a chocolate croissant but was mistakenly given an almond one instead. When I asked for an exchange, they were unwilling to accommodate my request. The croissant was served cold, and even when I asked for it to be reheated, they refused. It had very little flavor. The shakshuka was also quite bland. The only highlight was the good latte I had.
3 stars for Tatte Bakery. Honestly, I expected much more based on the hype, their Instagram, and all the marketing. The service was average. The iced oat latte was good, but the hot latte tasted mostly like milk — way too weak for my taste. The food was nothing special; you can get the same at many places and pay less. Absolutely amazing!! My sister and I just stumbled on this location, but it was so worth it!! We got their matcha latte, a blood orange iced tea, their passion fruit krembo, and two raspberry meringue cookies. Amazing atmosphere, and great workers!! Tatte Bakery Cafe in Back Bay is a wonderful spot for both breakfast and lunch. The space is bright and impeccably clean, offering a variety of delicious options. The coffee is top-notch as well. I highly recommend it!
What an amazing place !Delicious coffee, delicious breakfast options !!!I enjoyed it very much. There was no line for me. However, we saw it get busy really fast! Worth the wait if you go!
This place is the best! Always consistently delicious food with a very appealing atmosphere. Don’t take my word for it. Go check it out.
