Taverne Achilleas

I was very lucky to stumble upon this place for lunch! I hadn't had good Greek food for a long, long time and this was the best in ages!!! I couldn't drink the complimentary glass of ouzo that was given to me when I first sat down though. (Years after way too much in Santorini & Greece! Is it always free like water?!)I think the menu was a bit of a challenge but I managed it. The servers were very friendly and patient. The food was delicious!!!I wish I could have gone back for another meal. :(I miss good feta cheese in Japan!

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel owner. The menu is authentic Greek and some of the best you will ever eat outside of Greece. I will warn English speaking visitors that the menu is completely in German and most of the staff do not speak English. We were fortune to get Milena as our waitress, the only person who could speak English. Also, they are one of the few restaurants in Gelnhausen that take credit cards. It was such a good experience that we ate here two nights in a row.

5 ladies running the shop. Efficient friendly service, really good food. Try the mixed starter with fish. Licher Pils, Greek wines and freely flowing Ouzo. Great evening - will be back.

I've been here a few times and no matter how busy they have been the service has always been friendly. The food's great and I've rarely been able to eat everything on my plate.

Found this restaurant with TripAdvisor and was very satisfied with the service and quality of food. Location is kind of hidden but well worth the search.
