Tea Roses Tea Room

When we wanted to meet for Afternoon Tea somewhere between our respective houses, my friend Paula and I met from the northeastern Connecticut and we met friends from the Ansonia region that we chose for Tea Roses Tea Room as well in the middle location. Although it was over an hour to get to Cromwell, it was good to enjoy the ride, which was definitely an absolutely wonderful afternoon with friends. A reservation was made in advance so that we were shown on arrival at a beautiful table with a fragrant vase of roses, beautiful porcelain tea cups and soft bedding. Tea Roses tea room is a place where tea is an experience. The owner knows her tea and how to serve lunch and afternoon tea in style. I had the pleasure to visit this tea room several times and took men to tea. Every time they were completely satisfied and enchanted by the atmosphere and service. I was today with Paula Roswell ( whose rating is below) and the four of us ladies loved everything. The blueberry lemon cake was melted-in-your-mouth delicious. I had to start cream from Portabello mushroom soup and it was also delicious! The tea room offers a relaxing atmosphere and we certainly didn't rush to see how we felt when we went to Connecticut last year for afternoon tea at an unnamed place.

Amazing organic tea selection. Delicious house made scones and those cucumber sandwiches are to die for! Peggi and her staff are super polite and pleasant. The gift shop is full of fabulous treasures. All in all I would highly recommend high tea at Tea Roses!
