I went to Thatcher McGhee's for dinner on a Wednesday night with my family. The "dining room" was fairly busy and the bar was crowded. The service was excellent and our food arrived quickly despite the crowd. The Irish dishes we ordered, including shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie, Guinness stew, and bangers with a scone on top, were all delicious. All the food was served hot and remained so throughout our meal, which was greatly appreciated. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals as well. Overall, Thatcher McGhee's is a great choice if you're in the mood for Irish cuisine or a hearty meal.
My daughter and I stumbled upon this restaurant while waiting for our Electric Vehicle to charge. Initially, we walked past it thinking it was closed, but then we circled around to the other side and entered through the bar. It felt like we had discovered the best spot in a college town. The place was bustling and lively...but in a great way. We made our way through the bar and found a table in the restaurant area. The food was delicious, although the service was a bit slow. If I find myself in the area with more time, I will definitely be back to check it out again!
The place has great music, there’s DJ after 10 pm on Friday’s. I went with my folks for drinks and appetizers. I liked the spinach and artichoke dip so creamy and fresh, and the thin crust cheese pizza the sauce is good. From the drinks we ordered I liked the absolute stress reliever the most. Getting a table has quite some waiting time on weekends, so plan ahead- no reservations are taken. The service/staff is really good and helpful.
The food is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic at this restaurant. It's a fun spot to enjoy an Americanized take on Irish cuisine. The Chicken curry is reminiscent of what I had in Ireland, and the fish and chips are also delicious. The sandwiches are tasty as well. Don't miss out on trying the Rueben egg rolls, but be aware that they are a generous portion perfect for sharing as an appetizer for 2-3 people.

We're Thatcher's regulars. The food and service are consistently good and we enjoy the laidback vibe. The thatched hut room inside is fun! I'd give them 5 stars but we recently received a to-go order and the mashed potatoes had an empty plastic bag in them. Looked like a bag they probably use to pipe on the potatoes, but getting it in your food was off-putting.
This is a great spot to grab a drink and hang out with friends. The customer service was quick and courteous which can be rare for some drinking holes. Plenty of TV's to watch your favorite sporting event. They also had a good selection of drinks both on tap and otherwise. Food was also very good and came rather quickly from the kitchen.
I absolutely loved it. It was difficult to find a restaurant open after 9 pm in Denville on a Thursday night. The host was very friendly and assured us that we were still on time. The waitress was also very welcoming. Although we only ordered soup and appetizers, they were delicious, and the rest of the menu looked very appealing.
