"We stayed overnight in a truly stunning room and dined in the restaurant. There is a bit of a joke that my husband always chooses a pie. He did but declared it the best ever. My dessert of peanut butter cheesecake also ranks up there...with the best. We had the cheese board which I have to say was the only disappointment. Great ambiance, Great food, outstanding service"

Me and my other half are currently finishing off our lovely set menu at the Hornblower. We thoroughly enjoyed the set menu options that are currently available over the weekdays. The Chef must have some gift in order to produce such great quantity food at...such competitive prices and still smiles through the open kitchen like a true scholar and a gent. The front of house team were nothing but an asset to the industry. Very attentive and kind. I would love to meet the owners to let them know how lucky they are to tell them how great there staff have been to us this evening. Thanks so much for a great experience and celebration. Regards

My husband and I, together with two friends, enjoyed another brilliant dinner here last week. We were the only ones in one of the side rooms, so it felt vary safe. The set menu was excellent with lots of choices. At for two courses,...we were very pleased. Their sticky toffee pudding is the best on the planet. I chose sea bream and because I don’t like gnocchi, I was offered crushed potatoes instead. These were tucked below the large fish and broccoli and were both plentiful and scrumptious. There was a nice dribble of a sauce on the side of the plate. All in all, this was the best meal I’ve ever eaten there. Highly recommended.

I booked a couple of weeks ago for a party of nine of us, we were given a private room. The Christmas Dinner menu was fantastic value and there was lots of choice for starters, mains and puds. All the food was voted excellent by...everyone in my party. Service was spot-on and we all enjoyed the whole evening. Many thanks to Wayne and the team. There was one very small downside……….Nine of the staff was wearing a mask. However, we would still return, as we were all triple-jabbed.

Just had an absolute banging plate of Fish Chips. The batter was crisp and crunchy, which once cut through revealed a lovely piece of fish. Now let’s get on to the chips. No measly portion here and chunky to boot. Best fish and chips...I have had in ages. We was well looked after by Dan D Adele. A real credit to this establishment. Fabulous pub right in the heart of Oakham.
