My friends and I had this place booked for a number of months. We were travelling down for the Scotland/England game and heard they were taking bookings. Everything was fine, booked the table no problems at all. On the day of our visit, we unfortunately hit London traffic and arrived at the venue half an hour late. We phoned ahead and the woman rather arrogantly said they couldn’t keep the table, which is fair enough, but we could turn up and chance our luck anyway. So that’s what we did, my issue going forward isn’t about them keeping the table, I totally understand that. My friends and I stumbled upon this restaurant on a rainy afternoon before a concert at the nearby Olympia, just a short 3-minute walk away. The moment we walked in, we felt welcomed by the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Opting for a window table to people watch, we settled in for the afternoon. Despite the busy crowd, the bartender assured us our bar food would be ready in 30 minutes, and true to his word, it arrived promptly. I ordered the Chicken burger, my partner had the 7oz burger, and our friends enjoyed a homemade pizza with cheese and olive toppings. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this pub for drinks, but you would be missing out if you did...
The pub appears to be nice, but the staff, with the exception of the new girl who was polite and friendly (though she appeared to be struggling), were not very welcoming. I understand that prices in London can be high, but charging £9.50 for a shot (25ml) of Gin (Forest Gin) without any mixer is outrageous. As someone who works in the same industry, I know how much a bottle of Forest Gin costs and this price is exorbitant. I will not be returning as this pricing seems unreasonable. With such a high cost, one would expect the gin to be served in a proper gin glass with fresh fruit and juniper berries, but none of that was provided. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience.
We came as a large group all ordering a few drinks and food to celebrate a my fiancé birthday. A friend hid in the corner to write his name in M &M's on the cake and was told off by a staff member and told we were not allowed the cake in there and we weren't allowed to eat it! Dispute their being no desert menus! This ruined the birthday celebration which would have caused no harm we weren't going to use candles either) The staff member involved unsure if she is a manager) was rude to customers looked scruffy and was really rude to other staff in front of customers. Found this pub via Trip Advisor and it’s location was perfect adjacent to our London Olympia area AirBnB. We had a big lunch earlier in the day downtown and decided to split the wagyu beef burger plater along with a bottle of wine. Burger was excellent and my wife and I were satisfied with our shared portions. Very nice cosy atmosphere as our table was adjacent to a lovely decorated fireplace area.
Not massively impressed. A pint of beer and double g n t costing over £20... last time I paid this much for two drinks they were cocktails with a rooftop view of st Peter's basillica... the service was slow and resentful and we were 2/3s of the customers!! . I don't know what's happened since we last visited, but poor show!!
