we had a Friday reservation and sat immediately in a packed dining room. matthew, our waiter, was excellent. he followed our guide for the tempo of the meal, knew the menu very well, and was quick to allow a huh for the vene substitution. he was very professional as a new york city career waiter. eating was good, as expected. the only possibility for improvement was the crowd/noise level.
Reservations at 5:45 on a Friday. Seated immediately at wobbly two top table, bench/booth on one side, chair on the other, tight between tables, zero sense of privacy. Servers had to shuffle between tables. Food was fine, but for the overall cost $225) for 2 drinks but no dessert) ambiance should have been better. Did not feel like we got our money’s worth.
the avenue is amazing! we have celebrated birthdays, new years and just every day. Eat is fantastic! service is amazing. the dirty martinis should be for. some of the best die. Love...love....love the avenue. highly recommended!
