I recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to try out Rani's barbecue pit. It's clear that Rani takes pride in her food and has been a dedicated member of the community for over 24 years. She makes everything from scratch, including the samosas and empanadas. The veggie burger with spinach, lentils, and rice was a standout, and the turkey chili and meatloaf were also delicious. Rani and her team put a lot of effort and care into their food, and it shows in the unique flavors and spices used in their dishes. It's worth a trip from anywhere to try out Rani's barbecue pit! I went to pick up my food, so I didn’t get the full restaurant experience. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. However, the food, with the exception of the ribs, didn't quite meet my expectations. The wings were a bit tough, and the ¾ chicken was the same. The eggplant and macaroni salad were also disappointing. That said, I didn't experience everything the restaurant has to offer, and I might consider trying some other dishes in the future. Once again, I appreciated the owner's warm hospitality.
The place was cozy, the waitress was friendly and help us deciding what to try. I had the ribs and chicken which it was delicious and tender. Wifey had bbq pulled pork not a wow factor for her. It look like too much BBQ sauce. I believe the sidesshould be a little more for the price they charging. Mac n cheese was real small. Garlic mash needed a little kick to it.Overall I might give it another shot.
The ribs are tender and juicy, not dry at all. The sweet potato is perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes come with gravy. You can request extra BBQ or hot sauce if you like. They also offer complimentary chips and salsa as an appetizer. The service is friendly, and they play some great oldies music. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable!

Best in the city.... far better than any of the fancy schmancy BBQ joints. I'd confidently take any of my food connoisseur friends here to marvel over the marbled meat! No wonder this unassuming spot has outlasted most other establishments. Rani has been in business 24 years- she is the best in the business!!Food: 5/5
Many of the dishes could use a bit more seasoning. The waitress was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere felt very cozy. The restaurant has a lot of potential!

The food here is amazing. Especially ribs and bbq wings. First time for my father in law’s bday. Extra perk, the owner is wonderful and warm. We’ll be back!

Fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Favorites are: ribs, pulled pork, fried chicken, tandoori chicken, soups. Also try the empanadas and other starters.
I absolutely love the spare ribs and cornbread! This is our family's favorite spot. The service is excellent as well. I highly recommend it!
