this was the first time that my wife and I visited the bay horse, but we did this as a result of eating out to help out scheme and being fair, it was fantastic. the food was great and the service was fantastic. the scheme has reached that in this case it is target, as we will be 100% back.
This pub is the best I have visited while working in York. The landlady and landlord are incredibly kind and welcoming. The patrons are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, I would rate it 10/10.

We always call in here when we visit York, it's not touristy at all and is a proper old fashioned boozer like our own local, Neck Oil on tap which is a bonus. Réservez une table maintenant
Very friendly staff, very nice meals clean plates by all pleasant quiet pub definitely recommend to anyone, social distancing was easy to follow.
We stopped by for a few drinks before heading to the races. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly.
