Visited on a Tuesday for the €10 offer. Heard good things. I don't write reviews very often unless service and food excellent or very poor, in this case very poor. The beer pump choices looked good however there was nothing in them so had to have alternatives. Not great but they'd clearly run out of stock. Starters arrived, soup on menu advertised with croutons no croutons! Scotch egg advertised with Coleman's mustard which hubby was looking forward to no mustard! Alternative given of BBQ sauce!! Mains came eventually and drinks now empty, not asked if we would like more drinks had to ask the young waitress running around for drinks, she went to get a note pad and never returned. Just been for tenner Tuesday for the first time the starter of Braised Beef Potato Cake was lovely. My husband ordered the pork beef meatballs which comes with a tomato cucumber salad he explained that he’s allergic to cucumber so just miss out the salad, however when it came the tomato cucumber salad was on the plate!! The waitress took it away and returned with meatballs (which BTW is half the portion shown in their picture), rice and lettuce and tomato on the plate. He tucked into it and to be fair said the meatballs tasted lovely. However when he was eating it he said he could taste cucumber and then noticed there were a few pieces on the plate. When she cleared away the plates she asked...
It's weird. I never got to try the food when I called, not their fault.. Nothing wrong ther I called in at an odd time. The waitress came to me to explain that I would have to wait . Please avoid this restaurant if you have any food allergies/intolerances/concerns about food safety. New owners now my dad was served something he was severely allergic to, even though he made this known at point of order. When his food arrived he noticed that his allergen requirements had been ignored. His meal was replaced but he was almost immediately violently sick, conducive to an allergic reaction. The restaurant have been dismissive, repeatedly contradicted themselves and accused my parents of being underhand. What a disappointment, the starters were great, the Turkey, I was told was lovely, but I chose wrong, lamb, described on the menu as “slow cooked lamb”, well I could not cut it never mind chew it, had to send it back!! Took 15mins for the starters to arrive 35mins for the mains, such a shame as the veg accompanied potatoes were very nice
What sort of establishment takes a Sunday lunch booking for four people on second of November for the twelfth of November. When we pitch up they have shut for their holidays!! An anniversary meal ruined. Such bad practise, appalling way to treat potential customers. Having traveled for nearly an hour on recommendation from friends. Avoid.
Disappointing. the whole time we were there staff were sweeping up and cleaning tables all around us. My soup was only tepid, the chicken breast just thin, chewy grilled slices and the dessert was as dry as a bone with no cream, custard to ice cream to soften it up. Staff were pleasant and friendly but we wont be back. Réservez une table maintenant
