I’ve grown up in the area and we’ve explored and eaten at the best Berkshire and surrounding has to offer. We’ve never left a Sunday lunch so happy. Party of 3 plus 1 giant dog. Where to start? An extremely dog friendly pub who went above and beyond to welcome and accommodate. The food? Exceptional. Brilliant starters, mains and dessert. Great wine recommendation. Lobster is a risky choice if unfamiliar with the restaurant .. but I risked it .. and can safely say it was cooked as well as any I’ve had at a top seafood joint; fresh (as promised and like butter. The others thoroughly enjoyed their roast beef. Not a clean plate. The landlady/manager who is clearly just born to do the job is all...

I recently visited this restaurant, which is situated in a nice area. We sat outside and the service was satisfactory. We opted for the three-course menu priced at £25, but found it to be subpar. We ended up ordering from the main menu, paying £32 for a sirloin steak, which I felt was quite expensive. The starters were priced at £13.50 each, making the overall meal quite costly. Even though we were not in London, the prices for drinks were still high, with a glass of rose or blush costing £13.50 and another wine priced at £11.50. The total bill came to £200 for four people with minimal drinks, which I found to be too expensive for a lunch outing. However, the food was delicious despite the s...

I was excited to have my Birthday lunch at the Blade Bone today 10/09/23 1pm I was greeted by a young waitress and greeted with you will need to vacate the table by 2.30 pm. I have lived in the local area for more than 16 yrs and was looking forward to what I thought would be high standard of service and lovely food. I was disappointed by the service and the food. I had the roast pork which was chewy, the Yorkshire pudding was burnt !!! Waitress attention was poor !!! I do not leave reviews normally but I felt I had to share my experience today. If I had a really good experience I normally would tip generously but not today !!

I have to write this straight away as in my quest to find the best Sunday lunch I need go no further! Everything was amazing from the ambience, the decor, the staff and the food. The meal was wonderful, little nibbly bits to start, panko prawns and mustardy chipolatas. Roast pork with all the trimmings and vege strudel with very tasty trimmings! The roast potatoes so tasty and crispy, veges delicious! Puddings, as if we weren't full enough! Lemon pie and jelly and ice cream. Coffees and drinks, total £88 incl service. Fantastic value as far as I'm concerned Réservez une table maintenant

From beginning to end, the meal was absolutely delicious. The Yorkshire puddings filled with mini beef roasts were outstanding, as were the next level scampi to start. The tasting board with whitebait, panka prawns, cheese scones, and diddy sausages in honey and mustard was impressive. However, the standout dish was undeniably the beef roast, which was arguably the best tasting and best cooked I've ever had on a Sunday, or possibly in my entire life. Bravo to the bladebone for their first class food and service.

We love this pub, they have an excellent menu and are very accommodating with requests for changes to it. We couldn’t book for the night we wanted but knew there is always a chance of an empty table for walk ins and luckily we got a bar table. Recommend the sharer platter of mini starters. See photo. Friendly welcoming staff most of whom have been there for ages and they make great cocktails too. Is now our first choice for local meals. Recommended.

This used to be one of our favourite pubs but I can’t help but feel it’s gone downhill recently and our past couple of visits here we’ve been left feeling disappointed. The food isn’t quite what it was and the service during our most recent visit was a little sloppy with long waits. It’s a shame but after giving them the benefit of doubt on a couple of occasions, we won’t be rushing back.

Now able to say: consistently excellent. Two further brilliant lunches and a delicious evening meal. The atmosphere, the service, the food, unfailingly dog friendly. Couldn’t fault it again. Please let’s keep supporting local so places like this don’t go! Réservez une table maintenant

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff was fantastic, the atmosphere was delightful, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely return next time I am in the area.
