Our booking was not found in the system, and when I showed the email confirmation, we were not greeted warmly. The younger staff members were polite when we managed to get their attention, but overall the service was poor. The risotto resembled rice pudding, but the other dishes were enjoyable. We had to leave after 2 hours without even seeing the dessert menu. It was Father's Day and the staff seemed surprised by the busy evening.
Have been here several times now and always excellent service and food. Staff are lovely and very attentive (it helps that the food is great too! . Sunday lunch is a must. I have even started using their accommodation for visitors to our office because I know they will be impressed by the restaurant for their overnight stay.
Visited with friends for lunch. Excellent selection from standard menu or lunchtime special menu. Very good presentation of food and all arrived cakes hot. Service also very good and pleasant personality.
An outstanding meal selected from a comprehensive menu, with so many tempting options. The only criticism is we felt the fajitas should have included more than one wrap. Otherwise a great evening. Réservez une table maintenant
Lovely country pub with history n ambience. Food reasonably priced n delicious. Service a bit slow but it was busy. Waitress very sweet and accommodating of our food allergies .
Really good choice of starters and mains on the menu, our food was very tasty and a good portion size. The Blue Boar is very cosy and the staff were friendly.
It has been many years since I last visited this restaurant, and I was not disappointed. I couldn't find a single fault and I will definitely be returning.
