I cannot stop raving about the fantastic experience we had at The Botanist. Hands down, the best meal we've had in Sydney.The staff were lovely, helpful, friendly and personable. The food is tapas/sharing plates style. We ordered a beef slider and a chicken taco to begin with. Y.U.M. So yum, in fact, we order another slider and another taco after our main course!We had the garlicy, creamy, chutney-style potatoes as a side and the pan fried gnocchi for the main. My wife and I rocked up on a Tuesday night (kids at parents' house - date night!) at this cool little place in Kirribilli. We were greeted and seated promptly despite not having a reservation. It'd been a while since we ventured out of the suburbs to have a nice dinner together and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was chilled and filled up as the night went on with other diners also enjoying the relaxed space. I've been here a couple of times now.The waitress was great helping us choose GF options from the menu - and altering one slightly so I could try it.It's a very loud venue - just be aware.The wait staff (when you can flag them over) were knowledgeable and happy to help.Only one little thing - the tables are very close to each other. My chair was jostled countless times during the meal as wait staff helped the table behind us. I know that's a petty thing but it got a little annoying, I had my chair flush up against the table so couldn't get any closer.

This buzzy, busy, noisy bistro was full of beautiful people. It's not for those wanting a quiet, intimate experience. But it is good if you love a bustling atmosphere. The food was magnificent. We went mainly vego, gluten free with some fish. Everything was just superb. The wine list is also thoughtful and not too outrageously priced. Overall it was a brilliant night out. Walking around in the neighbourhood a Sunday afternoon, I found this amazing place. Local restaurant with great food served quickly - at least the delicious raw king fish. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I strongly recommend a detour for this.

Ate up at the bar. Great food and good drinks menu. Busy and noisy so don’t go for a quiet evening. Bit funky and hip place and great that the food matches up as well.
