Lovely village location, on site parking and a very warm welcome from the staff. The pub is very characterful, two open lit log fires both times when we visited for lunch. Different rooms available to cater for family occasions/private dining and the open restaurant/tables are...well spaced and dotted around the traditional and extended areas of the Inn. A very relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff. The lunch time menu catered for all our tastes on both visits. Soup, pie and fish of the day in addition to Pub Classics. Today was our first time dining at The Chequers and we were very impressed! We were looking for a nice lunch spot as we traveled north and we were not let down. The pub is beautiful, the staff is very pleasant, and the food was excellent. The menu had something for everyone and the dishes were beautifully presented and served piping hot. We also appreciated that the white wine was perfectly chilled, unlike many other pubs. We will definitely be returning and are already looking forward to it. Thank you to all the staff at The Chequers for a wonderful experience.

We visited this restaurant for my birthday, thinking it was a gastro-pub. Unfortunately, most people were eating fish and chips, burgers, and fries, which should have been a warning for me. The steaks were overcooked and raw in the center. The dessert was decent, but small, and we left feeling unsatisfied and hungry. We were disappointed with the food, but the staff was friendly and accommodating.

A relaxed and comfortable pub restaurant which serves very tasty food at quite reasonable prices. Service was relaxed, as were the guests, I don’t like it if restaurants are too POSH, what I want is good food at good prices and this was exactly what...we got. I had the steak and stilton pie which was outstanding, my wife had the pork belly, which again was perfect. Réservez une table maintenant

We dropped in here for our birthday meals as December sees both my wife and my birthdays.Again the Chequers delivered a wonderful meal and dining experience. We had the rib of beef and it was divine. Melt in your mouth meat, with proper, I mean, proper béarnaise sauce, obviously made from scratch.Good ale and wines made for a lovely lunch.

We stayed at the Chequers following a visit to the Belvoir Castle Regency Chrustmas. The welcome and wood were excellent. We had the fillet steaks which were good quality and cooked perfectly. The service and ambience were both good and we hope to return.

of us enjoyed a tasty lunch. Good menu with wide range of starters , mains and desserts. Our table was well spaced and near to the fire. Food was delicious, well presented, hot and tasty. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Nice atmosphere

We always make it a point to dine at this restaurant after our family trips, even if some family members have picky tastes. The atmosphere is always great, and there is a beautiful garden area to enjoy while you eat. Réservez une table maintenant

delicious food in a cozy atmosphere! we came for an evening family dinner to celebrate a birthday. the slow Bratpork bell was absolutely first class for taste and presentation. beautiful eating also for children!
