We Requested a Sunday lunch at 3pm, they didn’t contact us to confirm and when we checked we were told we could come at 4pm , after an hour’s wait lunch arrived and it was obvious by the look and the taste of it that it had been sitting waiting to be served for hours, everything was dried out ; roast potatoes, greens, cauliflower cheese (that was £5 for a small bowl) .it was extremely difficult to cut through and eat the roast potatoes. No apology was offered for an hour wait or the fact that the food was substandard. We had to chase for everything, even the bill. I’m lucky enough to live close to The Chimney House so I have eaten there often. Staff are always amazing, welcoming and attentive and drinks selection is spot on. Hands down the best chips I have ever had...burger also amazing as is the fish and chips! Sunday roasts have been consistently good here for years and I still get excited every time I’m booking to go again, which sadly is not often enough! Although I live in Worthing, my girlfriend lives in Brighton. We discovered this fabulous pub on a walk. The first time we stopped in for a drink, the bar staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. It's a very cosy pub and well laid out. We make an effort to visit whenever we can. The bar staff remembered us next time and made us feel like locals. Subsequently we've had several Sunday roasts. I'm vegan, my girlfriend eats meat; and each time the food has been incredibly tasty, swift to arrive and left us feeling very full. I mainly drink red wine and the selection is excellent. My girlfriend likes an ale, and there is a great drop available at all times. Always play good music too...

I first visited The Chimney house last February. The food and the drinks are fantastic. The staff Emma, Ciara James are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. I visit brighton regularly when I do I like to go by for food, drinks and a chat. The locals are all very lovely, it’s a great place to chill out relax. If you do pass by make sure to try a cocktail or two especially the “Strawberry Darling” James and the team create very good cocktails. Cheers guys hope to see you all soon.
The food at this restaurant is consistently exceptional. The aged pork chop is generously sized and accompanied by delicious cavolo Nero and incredible gratineed potatoes in a savory sweet sauce. The chef clearly knows what they're doing, as the meal is truly unforgettable.
Had lunch with friends 20 August. Was a privilege to be served by great staff and fabulous open kitchen. Amazing freshly prepared food and some spontaneous taster plates. Knockout frangipani tart made to order what a treat! Thank you and look forward to coming back xx

The food was not very satisfactory. I ordered the top side of beef which was tough and chewy, not as advertised. The gravy was watery. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.
The staff couldn’t have been nicer, friendlier or harder working. The Sunday roast was spectacular and the vibe of the pub is so good. A great place to spend time on a Sunday.
